While it is true that most athletes aren't autistic, it doesn't in any way convey that autistic individuals can't participate in sports. Programs exist in various counties (school districts should have information) for autistic individuals to participate in sports. Coaches who usually work with individuals with autism are trained to handle behavior outbreaks and best techniques to use in teaching the autistic population. The coaches may also be trained to work with a varying number of disabilities. So, please, get your child/children outside to participate in sports. At least give it a try!
